    Dr. Moriarty has more than 33 years of experience in orthopedic medicine with a focus on general orthopedics, adult reconstructive surgery of the knee, hip and shoulder, sports medicine and trauma, as well as arthroscopic procedures of the knee and shoulder.

    Dr. Moriarty comes to Rome after spending most of his career in the southeast, including the past 19 years in North Carolina. In addition to his work in private practice orthopedic medicine, Dr. Moriarty has served as an assistant clinical professor of orthopedics at Duke University Medical Center as well as working with the United States Air Force’s 56th Fighter Wing in Tampa, FL. The 56th Fighter Wing is the Air Force's only active-duty F-16 training wing and one of two F-35 training wings. The 56th graduates more than 400 General Dynamics F-16 Fighting Falcon pilots and 300 air control professionals annually.

    Certified by the American Board of Surgery, Dr. Moriarty earned his medical degree from Georgetown University School of Medicine in Washington, DC. He completed his residency in orthopedic surgery at Monmouth Medical Center in Long Branch, NJ, the oldest orthopedic residency program in that state. 

    Dr. Moretz has more than 40 years of experience in private practice orthopedic medicine with a focus on sports medicine, knee and shoulder problems as well as arthroscopic procedures of the knee and shoulder. He has served as the official team doctor for high school and college sports teams including Utica College, where he served for over 13 years.

    Dr. Moretz earned his bachelor’s degree in anthropology at Duke University and graduated from medical school at the Emory University, Atlanta, GA., He completed his residency in orthopedics at the University of Oklahoma Hospitals, Oklahoma City, OK, and is board certified, by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery.
