Beating Holiday Stress at December Health Night
ROME – November 16, 2002: During the holiday season, everyone is making a list and checking it twice. With all the preparations and entertaining, the celebrations can often come bearing gifts of added stress.
Don’t let the holidays stress you out. Come to Rome Memorial Hospital’s Health Night 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 5, in the classrooms on the first floor. Gale Barone, Director of Education, will offer tips on managing stress in her presentation “Ho! Ho! Hold the Stress.”
“For many people, stress is part of their daily routine. Add the hustle and bustle of the holidays and it can just be overwhelming,” said Mrs. Barone. “Because stress can have such a negative impact upon us both mentally and physically, we have to identify ways to reduce our stress levels.”
Mrs. Barone oversees patient, staff and community education programs at Rome Memorial Hospital. She is a graduate of SUNY College of Technology, Utica, and has been a member the hospital’s nursing staff since 1974. Over 20 of those years have been spent in the Education Department.
Health Night is a free monthly lecture series sponsored by the hospital. No advance registration is required. Refreshments will be served. |
