ROME—Two
obstetricians/gynecologists on the medical staff at Rome Memorial
Hospital have been awarded fellowships by the American College of
Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG), the nation's
leading membership organization of obstetrician-gynecologists.
Dr. Ankur M.
Desai and Dr. Lauren A. Giustra specialize in comprehensive obstetric
and gynecological care at Mohawk Valley Women’s Health Associates
located in Chestnut Commons at 107 E Chestnut Street, Rome and in New
Hartford at 1 Paris Road.
Dr. Desai
earned his medical doctorate from the State University of New York
Health Science Center at Brooklyn in 1992, after graduating from Wagner
College, Staten Island, magna cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in
chemistry. He was chief resident at Hahnemann University Hospital,
Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and was a clinic physician at Crozer Chester
Medical Center, Upland, PA, before moving to Rome in 1996.
Dr. Giustra
graduated in 1992 from the State University of New York Health Science
Center at Brooklyn. She was previously chief resident of obstetrics and
gynecology at the Medical College of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia,
moving to Rome in 1996. She received her undergraduate degree in biology
with a minor in chemistry from Saint Joseph’s College, Windham, Maine,
where she graduated summa cum laude.
