Hospital Relocates
Free Blood Pressure Screening to Downtown Rome
ROME – Rome Memorial Hospital is relocating its free blood pressure screenings to its new primary care center
in downtown Rome, effective Tuesday, Nov. 16.
Free blood pressure checks will be available 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. every Tuesday and Friday at PrimeCare, 155 W.
Dominick St.
"Individuals with high blood pressure require regular monitoring to ensure that the prescribed diet and/or
medication is treating the condition effectively," said Kristin Dempsey, M.S., F.N.P.-C, nurse practitioner
at PrimeCare. "And, because prevention is such an important component of our mission, we wanted to make this
free service more convenient for the public."
Rome Memorial Hospital opened PrimeCare to improve access to primary health care services, according to Mark D.
Snyderman, assistant vice president of corporate development and outpatient services.
"Having a primary care provider that knows your medical history is important even when you are not
sick," Snyderman said. "Primary care is prevention, early detection and treatment."
PrimeCare offers treatment for minor injuries and illnesses, student and employee physicals, prenatal care, and
on-site laboratory collection services. The facility has a full-time social worker to help patients connect with
community resources.
Easily accessible to patients, PrimeCare has ample parking and is located on the VIP bus route.
