emergency department plans
featured at hospital forum
ROME
(September) – Rome Memorial Hospital’s plans to
construct a new emergency department will be featured at
a community forum 6 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 30, at the
hospital, 1500 N. James St.
The information session will be held in the classrooms
on the first floor.
President and Chief Executive Officer Darlene Burns will
describe how the new 10,500 square foot Emergency
Department will be constructed to enhance patients’
comfort and privacy and decrease wait times through more
space and greater efficiency.
Entitled “Investing in the Vision,” the presentation
will also include an overview of the hospital’s
strategic plan from recruiting new physicians to
investing in the latest technology for treating cancer.
Mrs. Burns will also provide an update on the status of
the capital campaign in support of the new emergency
department.
“One of the objectives of our strategic plan is to
enhance communications with our patients, physicians,
staff and community,” said Mrs. Burns. “This forum is
one of the ways we are reaching out to our community.
It will give us an opportunity to share our vision for
the future and obtain valuable feedback from the people
we serve.”
Refreshments will be served. Advance registration is
not required. However, to ensure adequate seating and
refreshments, an estimate of the audience is helpful. If
you plan to attend, please call the Public Relations
Department at 337-5177 or send an e-mail to cwinter@romehospital.org.
