Rome Memorial Hospital Radiologic Technologist to Discuss “Film-Less Medical Imaging” at Health Night ROME – On Thursday, April 6 at 7 p.m., Rome Memorial Hospital Radiologic Technologist Mark Kohlbrenner, RRT, will speak on “Film-less Medical Imaging” at the hospital’s Health Night lecture. The lecture will be presented in the hospital’s classroom on the first floor. During his presentation, Kohlbrenner will give an overview of what film-less medical imaging technology is and how it benefits patients and referring physicians. After the lecture, other professional’s from the hospital’s Medical Imaging Department will be on hand to answer questions, including: Director of Medical Imaging Brian James, RRT; Assistant Director of Medical Imaging Sharon Carson, RRT; and Radiologic Technologist Christine Sciorilli, RRT. "Rome Memorial Hospital currently uses a Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS) which stores images and dictated results electronically. Ultimately, it improves the service we provide to our patients,” said Kohlbrenner. “It is an enormous time saver for our staff and physicians," he said, adding, "It increases patient throughput as well as patient and physician satisfaction." "One of the most considerable advantages is that PACS allows any number of physicians at any number of different locations to view their patient’s images at virtually the time of examination," said Director of Medical Imaging Brian James. “It improves patient outcome by providing patient images and knowledge in real time.” Health Night is a free monthly lecture series. Advance registration is not required. Refreshments will be served. |
