Hospital Childbirth Nursing Team Recognized by Johnson’s

ROME - Rome Memorial Hospital’s Maternity Department staff was recently nominated for Johnson and Johnson Consumer Companies Childbirth Nursing Awards Certificate of Recognition “for care and support to mothers and their babies,” said Maternity Department Nurse Manager Deborah Worth, RN.  The Department was also nominated for the award in 2003.

The team was nominated by a patient who felt that the Maternity Department nurses deserve recognition for the quality of care provided, said Worth.  “It is such an honor to be recognized by one of our patients,” she said.  “This award exemplifies the quality of care that we strive to provide our patients with 24/7,” she added.

Rome Memorial Hospital’s 25-person Maternity Department staff delivers over 600 babies a year.

As a result of the nomination, the hospital’s Maternity Department is automatically entered into a drawing for a chance to win a $1,000 educational grant and two complimentary registrations to the 2006 Association of Women’s Health Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses (AWHONN) convention.
