Hospital seeks community input for its 2006-2009 strategic plan Rome Memorial Hospital is seeking input from the community to help guide its strategic planning committee as it prepares the hospital’s 2006-2009 strategic plan, announced President/Chief Executive Officer Darlene Burns, M.S., R.N. “Every three years, we develop a new strategic plan to build upon our strengths, prioritize identified needs and establish a blueprint for the future,” Mrs. Burns said. “Our current strategic plan set in motion several initiatives, including the expansion of the Emergency Department, the recruitment of several new physicians, and the development of a customer service program in response to identified needs.” “As we look forward to the next three years, we again turn to our many stakeholders to ensure that our 2006-2009 strategic plan truly reflects the top priorities of our patients, physicians and our employees,” she said. “We invite any comments, ideas and concerns related to the future of your community hospital. We would also appreciate your feedback on several different areas,” Mrs. Burns said, listing the following questions: What additional healthcare services and programs do you think a community hospital should provide? What barriers interfere with your ability to obtain quality medical care in Rome? Do you feel there are an adequate number of primary care physicians and specialists in Rome? If not, explain why you feel Rome needs more and in what areas? What areas do you feel hospital leaders need to focus upon to improve and strengthen the hospital as a healthcare provider and as an employer? What do you think the hospital’s strengths are?
“Your feedback will help us to better understand and address the community’s needs and concerns. Help us shape the next three years by sending us your thoughts,” Mrs. Burns encouraged. Anyone who would like to send comments is asked to respond by Wednesday, June 15. Comments may be sent via e-mail to: planning@romehospital.org or by mail to: Rome Memorial Hospital, Strategic Planning Committee, 1500 N. James St., Rome, NY 13440. |
