Phase 2: Energy Center Construction
Rome Memorial Hospital broke ground on its new Energy Center in March 2004. The 4,500 square foot facility will house new emergency generators, electrical switchgear, controls, boilers and water system chillers. Relocating the underground utilities and electric service to the energy center is necessary before construction can begin on the hospital’s new Emergency Department. The New York State Department of Health has already approved the certificate of need application to construct the new energy center to modernize the hospital’s mechanical systems. Many of these systems are 30 to 40 years old. Installing new modern heating and cooling systems that operate more efficiently will reduce our operating costs. |
