Darlene A. Burns, MS, RN, President/Chief Executive Officer - Mrs. Burns graduated from the Mercy Hospital School of Nursing in Watertown and earned her master’s degree in health care administration from the New School for Social Research.  She started her career at Rome Memorial Hospital in 1972 as a charge nurse.   Moving up through the nursing and administration ranks, she served as director of nursing from 1982 to 1989, when she was named assistant hospital administrator.   She briefly served as interim hospital administrator in 1992. She was promoted from Senior Vice President/Clinical Services to Senior Vice President/Chief Operating Officer in 2001, and became President/CEO in 2002.

 

Basil J. Ariglio, Senior Vice President/Chief Operating Officer Mr. Ariglio has been employed by Rome Memorial Hospital since 1992 as Chief Financial Officer. He has earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting from LeMoyne College and has earned his Master of Science degree in healthcare management and policy from New School University.  He was promoted from Vice President Finance/Support Services to Senior Vice President/Chief Financial Officer in 2003, and to Senior Vice President/Chief Operating Officer in 2005.

  

Nicholas Mayhew, Vice President/Chief Financial Officer - Mr. Mayhew received his bachelor’s degree in accounting from Utica College and graduated from the New School University with a master of science degree in healthcare management and policy.  He joined the hospital’s staff in 1993 as Controller. He was promoted from Director of Finance to Assistant Vice President Finance/Support Services in 2001 and to Vice President/Chief Financial Officer in 2005.

 

Durinda K. Durr, R.N., M.S., Vice President/Chief Nursing Officer Mrs. Durr has received her bachelor’s degree in nursing from Syracuse University and her master’s degree in nursing administration from SUNY IT.  She joined Rome Memorial Hospital in 2003 bringing with her more than 20 years of nursing leadership experience.

 

Raymond Carnevale, Vice President/Chief Risk Officer- Mr. Carnevale is a graduate of the University at Albany and has earned his master’s degree in public administration at Syracuse University.  He joined the hospital staff in 2003 bringing 23 years of experience in the field of risk management, patient relations and loss control.  Mr. Carnevale was promoted to Vice President Risk Management/Regulatory Affairs in 2005.

 

Mark Snyderman, Vice President of Outpatient Services/Planning Mr. Snyderman is registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists and earned his certificate in radiologic technology from the Air Force School of Health Care Sciences, Sheppard Air Force Base, Texas. He majored in radiologic science at Midwestern State University, Wichita Falls, Texas, and earned a bachelor's degree in health administration from Kennedy Western University.  He joined the hospital in 1981 as Manager of the Radiology Department.  He was promoted from Director of Outpatient Services to Assistant Vice President of Outpatient Services/Planning in 1998 and to Vice President in 2007.

 

Debra Wurz, Vice President/Senior Services Ms. Wurz graduated from SUNY Institute of Technology, Utica, with a bachelor’s degree in business administration and a bachelor’s degree in health services management.  She became Administrator of Rome Memorial Hospital’s skilled nursing facility in 1999 and was promoted to Vice President/Senior Services in 2003.

Regina Chambers, Assistant Vice President Human Resources - Mrs. Chambers earned her bachelor’s of art degree in healthcare administration from Marshall University, Huntington, W.Va. She joined the hospital’s staff in 1995 and was promoted from Director of Personnel to Assistant Vice President of Human Resources in 2007. 

Maryann Zaleski Dubai, Assistant Vice President/Chief Information Officer Ms. Dubai earned a bachelor’s of art degree in natural sciences from the University of Northern Iowa and majored in forest biology at the State University of Environmental Science and Forestry at Syracuse University.  An information systems specialist with over 21 years of experience, she joined the hospital as Director of Information Technology in 2006 and was promoted to Assistant Vice President/Chief Information Officer in 2007.

Cassie Evans Winter, Assistant Vice President Communications/Marketing - Mrs. Winter received her bachelor's degree in sociology from Texas A & M University, College Station, Texas.  A former reporter, she joined the hospital’s staff in 1998 as the public relations manager. She was promoted to public relations director in 2002 and named Assistant Vice President Communications/Marketing in 2006.
